Democratic Party MP Jorida Tabaku has reacted through a video on social media regarding the state-owned company KAYO and its functioning. Tabaku described KAYO as "the next godfather of corruption", emphasizing that this is not an isolated case, but the continuation of a model started with incinerators, the Investment Corporation, the "golden roads" and AKSHI.

According to the Democratic MP, this model demonstrates the capture of the state and the creation of a closed system, which simultaneously harms the free economy and democracy. "Outside the control of the Supreme Audit Office, but within the control of the Prime Minister. Outside the competition of the economy, but within the party of the Prime Minister. Outside any transparency, but within the rules that the socialist system has established", said Tabaku.

She stated that KAYO has created four companies that, according to her, are outside of the usual state control and auditing, while reporting only to the prime minister. Tabaku compared these structures to “islands of lawlessness” and “dark rooms”, where transparency in the use of public money is lacking.

"These structures receive millions of euros from the budget every month, but citizens do not know how this money is spent and where it ends up," she declared, recalling the cases of incinerators, the National Agency for the Protection of Public Health and the health sector. In conclusion, Tabaku warned that the expansion of this model endangers other vital sectors of the country. "Today it is KAYO, tomorrow it will be health. Let's forget that we can have a functional democracy if we do not have a free economy," concluded the DP MP.

REACTION
*Tomorrow will be healthcare*

KAYO is the latest godfather of this government. In fact, this model started early: with the incinerators, the Investment Corporation, the roads, AKSHI and now with KAYO. KAYO has created four companies that are outside of any state control and audit, reporting to no one other than the prime minister.

Outside the control of the Albanian Supreme Audit Office, but within the control of the Prime Minister. Outside the competition of the economy, but within the control of the Prime Minister.

Outside of any transparency, but within the rules established by the socialist system. KAYO is another example of the islands of lawlessness that the Albanian government has created; of dark rooms and areas, where no one knows what happens. These structures receive millions of euros from the budget every month. It is not known how this money is spent and it is not reported anywhere where it has ended up. But, in the end, it goes into the pockets of the government's friends.

Just as yesterday they went into the pockets of the owners of the incinerators or people connected to the affairs of the National Institute of Public Health and the health sector. It is precisely this system of state capture, lack of procurement and elimination of free competition that is deadly for the economy and democracy. Let us forget that we can have a functional democracy when we do not have a free economy.
