The family of the late actor Matthew Perry has demanded the maximum sentence for the woman accused of selling him the drugs that led to his death. The actor's stepmother, Debbie Perry, urged a California judge to impose a harsh sentence on Jasveen Sangha, who faces more than 60 years in prison. In her statement, Debbie Perry stressed that the damage caused is "irreparable," adding that the pain the family and many others are feeling is immeasurable.

Sangha, known as the “Ketamine Queen,” has pleaded guilty to five charges, including distribution of ketamine resulting in death or serious bodily harm. The actor was found unconscious in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home in 2023, and the medical examiner ruled his death an accident caused by “acute ketamine effects.” In a statement from prison, Sangha apologized for her actions, saying there was no justification for what happened and that she was sorry for the pain caused to the actor’s family.

Matthew Perry, best known for his role as Chandler Bing on the sitcom Friends, had struggled with substance abuse for years, including using ketamine as part of his treatment for depression. Sangha is one of five people convicted of involvement in the actor's death. Doctor Salvador Plasencia was sentenced to 30 months in prison, while another doctor, Mark Chavez, was sentenced to house arrest and supervision.

According to the investigation, the middleman Erik Fleming and the actor's personal assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, played a role in securing and administering the substance. Iwamasa is suspected of injecting Perry with several doses, including the fatal one in October 2023. Sentences for the other people involved are expected to be handed down in the coming days, as the case continues to shock public opinion.
