Actress Egla Ceno has recounted details of her clash with Prime Minister Edi Rama during a meeting on Territorial Reform, where a group of representatives from Poliçan had gone to express the concerns and positions of citizens.
Ceno said that the meeting began with the speech of Minister Demo, who gave citizens the opportunity to express themselves. According to her, after two people spoke, the group requested that the microphone be passed to the other representatives, but at that moment the Prime Minister intervened.
The actress said that Rama started talking about the situation in Poliçan and that, for about 20 minutes, no one else was allowed to speak. According to her, after the Prime Minister's speech ended, she asked to speak and be heard, but Rama asked her to leave the hall.
"We were a group of representatives from Poliçan in Berat for the Territorial Reform. Poliçan is a city that has often expressed its opinion through its citizens. At the meeting, Minister Demo opened the meeting and gave the floor to the citizens, two of them spoke. When we asked for the microphone, the prime minister intervened and said we are not here to understand how well people live in Poliçan, and he began a speech that lasted for an unknown amount of time. No one was allowed to speak. After about 20 minutes, when he finished, I asked him if they could talk and he told me to go outside. I replied that I could go out, but we were called out because we were told that the prime minister would listen to us. I refused to be addressed like that, but he stood up and said that the meeting would be suspended until I left the hall. At this moment, the community joined me and we all went outside," she said.
