The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of hiding the European Parliament's latest report on Albania, describing it as "the most critical report ever adopted in the history of the integration process."

In a statement to the media, Berisha said that the report of the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee harshly criticizes the Albanian government for the electoral process and the functioning of the institutions.
According to Berisha, the document also calls for strengthening the role of parliament in the European integration process and the prompt implementation of decisions of the Constitutional Court of Albania.

He also attacked the leaders of the Assembly, claiming that the majority has no real interest in European integration, but in “protecting corrupt affairs and stolen assets”. Berisha also touched on the issue of strategic investments and PPPs, claiming that the European Parliament report calls for transparency for these projects and the publication of the relevant lists. He also accused the government and its media of avoiding public debate on the report, while adding that the document contains criticisms similar to those of the IBAR report on the justice system and the country’s integration process into the European Union.

"But let's leave this aside, because these people are keeping the darkness, these people are not transparent, and we learn this from the media and from short pieces that come from our friends. We are getting the other one. We get the European Parliament report. The Foreign Affairs Commission report. The absolutely most critical report ever adopted in the history of the integration process. The report that tells the government, you did not make fair choices, you made choices as a party state, you bought votes, etc. The report that demands that the parliament have a central role in the integration process. Do you see that Pelesh who stands at the head of the parliament? He has no interest in integration, he is like Edi Rama. These people have interests in the assets that they have stolen, because if he had an interest in integration, he would have told Olta, you have no place here anymore, go, there are two decisions of the Constitutional Court. You are a thief, together with your husband, proven by the court, decided by the Constitutional Court. You have no place. But Olta is part of the Rama family. This doesn't happen in vain.
