Avenir Peka, invited to the studio of the show "Oponencë" in News24, has commented on the latest developments within the Democratic Party and new movements in the opposition ranks. For several days, a group of Democratic exponents among the most voted in the primaries and open lists, among them Ervin Salianji, Ilir Alimehmeti, Aulon Kalaja, have begun meetings with citizens and DP structures in several areas of the country.

Peka assessed that this movement comes as a result of accumulated dissatisfaction among the democratic base, but according to him, the current political situation constitutes an important moment that the DP should exploit.

"Today we must return to ourselves and make the PD an offer for what may happen in the coming months. The PD has the chance to seize the situation, but if it does not extend its hand, it cannot take it," he declared.

Peka warned that the government crisis of the coming months could create new political spaces that the opposition should capitalize on.

"If the DP does not look beyond itself and does not make an offer to Albanians, it will not seize the opportunity that the government crisis brings. This is a golden opportunity. Every opposition party should seize it and I believe that the DP will seize it."

Peka described the revival of energies within the DP as a welcome development, saying that every political movement and activity shows the party's vitality.

"There is nothing wrong with the revival, the dynamism within the DP. The only bad thing may be the chaos that can be created, but here it is up to the leadership to channel the energies so that the DP emerges as a real offer."

In closing, he emphasized that the main responsibility falls on the leaders of the Democratic Party of Albania, who must manage new movements, the expectations of democrats, and the political opportunities offered by the current situation, in order for the party to be presented as a real alternative for Albanians.
