New details come to light from the incident that occurred on the evening of August 8 in Korça, where a conflict that began earlier between two young men allegedly ended with gunfire.
In a statement given to the authorities at 23:40 PM on August 8, citizen Kristjan Sterjo, who is under investigation, gave his version of the dynamics of the incident.
According to the statement, Sterjo indicated that about two weeks ago he had a verbal conflict with Johan Zuko, after, according to him, the latter had harassed a friend of his.

Sterjo stated that during that conflict he had hit Zuko once with his palm.
On the day of the incident, according to his statement, he saw Zuko passing by in a Mercedes-Benz C-Class. After they exchanged words, the vehicle stopped and Sterjo approached the driver.

He claims that at this moment Zuko pulled out a knife and tried to stab him. According to his testimony, after the fight, another person in the vehicle held him down, while Zuko allegedly tried to stab him again. Other people nearby intervened to separate them.
After the conflict, Sterjo states that he left for his apartment. In an agitated state, according to him, he took a firearm that he had hidden in the apartment and put it in a white bag.

He stated that he then set off on foot towards the neighborhood where Johan Zuko lived. After arriving near the "Euromarket" supermarket, he claims to have seen Zuko near a bar.
According to the statement, Sterjo approached him with the gun, while Zuko ran away and entered a building. Sterjo followed him and, according to his testimony, fired a gun at Zuko, aiming for his legs.

He states that he did not see whether Zuko was injured and that he is unable to determine with certainty the type of weapon. After the shooting, according to him, he left and hid the weapon in some bushes in the area called "Field of Trees."
He then went to his apartment, changed his clothes and put the clothes he had worn during the incident in the washing machine. According to the statement, he then left and stayed in an unoccupied apartment near his house.

Kristjan Sterjo was arrested in flagrante delicto at 00:30 on August 9, as a suspect for the criminal offenses of "Premeditated Murder" and "Unauthorized Possession and Production of Weapons, Explosive Weapons and Ammunition", provided for by Articles 78 and 278 of the Criminal Code.
During the personal search, the police seized a Xiaomi phone and a phone charger. Also, during the investigative actions, swabs were taken from both of his hands for examination of gunshot residue.

The clothing he was suspected of wearing at the time of the incident, found in the apartment, as well as another Redmi phone, which was checked by the investigation team, were also administered as material evidence.
Investigations are ongoing to fully elucidate the circumstances of the incident and the dynamics of the conflict.
