Security Expert Fatjon Softa in an interview on "News24", spoke about the incident that occurred in Ksamil, where a Portuguese citizen was killed. The person arrested for this incident is Sokrat Vata.
Twelve other people, including a prison officer, have also been arrested. During the interview, Softa stressed that the investigation into this incident is still ongoing and that according to him, it is still unclear whether the Portuguese citizen was killed inside the club or outside.
"It is still unclear whether the person was killed inside or outside the discotheque and whether the body was taken out. So we need to see what happened in those premises. And who were the people who directly helped him...", he said.
Also during the interview, he emphasized that the bodyguard's involvement in the crime further aggravates the situation.
"Ksamil is the showcase of Albanian tourism. When a crime is committed by a security guard, a bodyguard who is supposed to be there to maintain security, this aggravates the situation even more. It seems as if a mini-republic of bodyguards is being created, nightclubs, activities, suspicions that there may be people who have been involved in criminal activities, and this happens at the height of the season, is worrying. Even the first case of conflict was until the chief of investigation was involved. So it shows that there is a lack of control in the selection of bodyguards. The state police have become more operational and we cannot diminish their work, however, there is still work to be done. But the other fact that must be said is that the police must be with the law. A bodyguard cannot exercise violence, but when they choose bodyguards, they no longer see if they are people with a precedent or not," said the security expert.
