The third phase of the police operation codenamed "Zonat" is being finalized, during which another case of supply and distribution of hard drugs was cracked.

As a result of the operation, citizens Gezim Muhameti and Zhuljan Prençi were arrested in flagrante delicto.

According to the police, based on information obtained in the operational route and the investigations conducted, the services of the Narcotics Investigation Section have located and stopped the vehicle in which the two suspects were driving on "Prokop Mina" street in Tirana.

During the vehicle search and physical examination, a quantity of 1 kilogram and 71 grams of narcotics, suspected to be heroin, was found and seized as material evidence.

It is suspected that the arrested citizens would distribute the narcotic substance in small doses in different areas of the capital, mainly in the New Tirana area. The police inform that investigations are continuing in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office to identify other persons involved in this criminal activity.

Following successive operations to crack down on criminal activities in the field of narcotics and prevent the distribution of narcotics in the capital, the Narcotics Investigation Section successfully finalized the third phase of the police operation codenamed "Zones", cracking down on another case of supply and distribution of hard narcotics.

As a result of this phase of the operation, citizens GM, 51 years old, resident of Tirana, and Zh. P., 35 years old, resident of Gjirokastër, were arrested in flagrante delicto.

Based on the information obtained in the operational route and after a well-organized investigative and operational work, the Police services located and stopped the vehicle in which these citizens were traveling, on "Prokop Mina" street.

During the vehicle search and physical examination, the Police services found and seized, as material evidence, 1 kg and 71 grams of suspected heroin-type narcotics.

From the investigative actions, it is suspected that these citizens would supply other citizens with this quantity of narcotic substance, with the aim of distributing it in doses in different areas of the capital, mainly in the New Tirana area.

In cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office, investigations continue to fully document this criminal activity, as well as to identify and apprehend other persons involved.

During the first and second phases of Operation "Zones", over 1 kg of suspected cocaine was seized and its two possessors were arrested.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.
