Businessman Erlind Xhindi, invited to "News24", stated that the protest, which has entered its 52nd day, has already passed the stage of a civic rally, transforming, according to him, into a movement that represents the dissatisfaction of different layers of society towards the political class.

The Genie also touched on the initiative called "Kuvendi", admitting that it has not worked as expected and announcing that the organizers have decided to temporarily withdraw from this initiative.

According to Jindi, the protest has now acquired a broader social character and does not represent just a certain political group.

"Now it is no longer a protest, but a movement that is represented by all layers of society and by all the dissatisfactions towards this 36-year-old government. There are left-wing and right-wing voters, members of small parties and citizens without political affiliation. They have an unwavering dissatisfaction with all 140 members of Parliament," he declared.

Xhindi said that the protest has also brought reactions in the international arena, mentioning the presence of MEPs in the square.

"Albania was represented in the European arena by ourselves. The MEPs came to the square and expressed that the people are ready for Europe, but the government is not," he said.

In the interview, the businessman also leveled accusations at the government for its management of public funds, while harshly criticizing the opposition.

"The opposition has not existed since 2019, since the burning of mandates. We are at this point because the opposition has committed a national betrayal. Mr. Berisha can support the protest from the couch or from the office, but he has not really supported it. He should have been the first to leave and take responsibility," said Xhindi.

I personally did not approve of the Assembly, but we should have been supporters of the protest. But I believe that since the name Assembly was dropped, we had not yet created a party. We cannot say that it failed, it has reached a stage. Not long ago, we gathered yesterday and had a conversation, a type of agreement. We will withdraw from the Assembly for the time being. But we must start with forums that should be more inclusive and broader. The average age that was included there, the protest itself did not accept. There is a very great pressure in the protest.
