Former DP candidate for MP, Ilir Alimehmeti, in an interview for the show 'This Week' on News24, stopped at the approval with all votes in favor of the EU resolution, which brought together the opposition and the majority in the Assembly. He said that the DP has been and is in favor of integration.

"Regarding EU integration, NATO, the DP has been the initiator of these initiatives. It has supported the path towards the EU. We want to bring forward the will of the people. Integration is not simply concluding contracts. The SP, which had the EU campaign as its motive, has not explained what good things come from integration. The fact that Albanians are pro-EU is that they feel European. They feel European in the union of values. Our young people are leaving. Left, right, from the city, from the countryside, they are leaving because things are not being done properly here. This country is not giving them hope, including corruption and the lack of justice. I could also stop at education, or employment, or the property issue. We should not base our future on lies. Having a bunch of ministers in prison, and saying that the prime minister did not know anything and that they were eating pears and plums behind his back! Having a mayor in prison and saying that the municipality of Tirana is functioning! You have a deputy prime minister on the run, a deputy prime minister who is being asked to have her immunity lifted, and the Socialist Party votes against it, the government is not in normal conditions. This is not a normal country. The prime minister has his own plan, which is to remove people. Because he wants the wealth of this country. Like any invader who seeks territories. Now he has invented the mountain package. Mayors come out and compete to see who has the most mountain packages. As the prime minister said; whoever has less than 10 mountain packages, no longer runs for mayor! ", said the democrat.
Focusing on the AKSHI scandal and the lenient measure for Mirlinda Karçanaj, Alimehmeti said that SPAK is investigating what the former director has done.
"As far as we could see, we understood that we had given ourselves over to criminality. They manage our lives. The cadastre, the national security certificates. They had them. We saw the state police there. Deputies, ministers who threaten. These people have taken over the state, the state and the gangs are one. AKSHI is an agency under the prime minister. And they have raised pears and plums behind this. This is a harm to Albanians. They have access to prisons, to every one of our data. I hope they do not have access to banks," he added.
