At the Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SCOC), the testimony of justice collaborator Artan Tafani continues regarding Laert Haxhiu's criminal group.
Tafani recounted details from his first meeting with Haxhiu, describing the atmosphere and the conversation they had. "I had only heard about Laerti in the news. We met in Dajt at a restaurant, where Laerti took me out to talk. That night we stayed there in Dajt. I was scared, because I said why they took me, when I saw Laerti Haxhiu. He told me 'we will do some work, I will help with some goods'. It seems to me that he knew that I was short of money. The next day Laerti and Ligori left for Korça, I met with Klajdi and Lulzim and we left for Lushnje. On the way, they gave me 500 euros, and another 500 were given to me after 2-3 days", said Tafani.
He also told of other illegal tasks he had performed for this criminal group.
"In another meeting, they told me to place a TNT bomb in Lushnje, after they had given goods to someone and he had not paid for it. The TNT would be a form of pressure. I accepted. From the first day I met them, there was a kind of pressure on me, I didn't know how to explain it to them. On the way, Laerti gave me 100 euros for fuel expenses. I had left the car at the entrance to Elbasan. We left for Lushnje with the TNT bomb placed, I had also made a plan," he said.
Tafani revealed that he used 100 grams of TNT on an apartment door on the first floor of a building.
"It seemed to me that this was proof that they were going to see if I was doing work or not. I lit the fuse and left. I placed it on the door of the apartment, it was on the first floor of a building. I was on foot, I crossed the train tracks. I had made the plan with Laertes," he concluded.
