The catering company "Sori-Al" will continue its activity, after the National Food Authority (AKU) lifted the suspension measure imposed following the suspected poisoning of 64 students of the Security Academy at the end of June.
According to the AKU, the verifications carried out after the incident have been completed and the results of laboratory analyses of food samples, as well as hygiene checks on the company's premises, have resulted within the permitted food safety criteria.
The Authority announced that during further inspections it was found that the entity has fulfilled its legal obligations and the standards required for the continuation of its activities.
The company has also implemented self-control procedures, conducting analyses on the work premises, equipment used and staff, with results that, according to the NFA, were in line with the requirements in force.
The suspension of "Sori-Al" activity was decided after 64 students of the Security Academy showed symptoms of poisoning, while authorities launched checks to identify the causes of the event.

The National Food Authority, in continuation of public information and transparency, announces that, referring to the issue of suspected poisoning of several trainees, at the Safety Academy, Sauk, sampled on 25.06.2026, 14 samples from lunch and dinner, at the address "Skënderbej" Garrison, Tirana, 14 samples from lunch and dinner, as well as 5 environmental hygiene and equipment swab samples.
We have been informed by the ISUV Reference Laboratory that the analysis of a total of 33 samples for microbiological indicators resulted within the norms.
Following the follow-up of the issue at the "Sori-Al" entity at the address of the Armed Forces Academy, "Skenderbej" Garrison, for which a measure of activity interruption was taken, the Sori-al entity has conducted environmental buffer self-control analyses of the premises, equipment and employees, which have been found to comply with legal requirements.
On 10.7.2026, after notifying the subject of the results of the self-control analyses, the AKU conducted an inspection at the address of the Armed Forces Academy, Garrison "Skenderbej", during which it again took 3 environmental buffer samples, which were sent for analysis to the ISUV laboratory.
With the release of the results of the analyses conforming to the hygiene and food safety conditions, for the official control samples sampled on 25.06.2026 and the samples taken on 10.07.2026 at the "Sori-Al" entity at the address of the Armed Forces Academy, "Skenderbej" Garrison, the AKU has unblocked the activity of the "Sori-Al" entity and the OBU is allowed to continue exercising the activity of cooking food in the kitchen premises located within the premises of the "Skenderbej" Garrison.
