The Albanian Football Federation continues its commitment to supporting Albanian children and youth in the Presheva Valley, through the project for the construction of two modern football fields, one in the Municipality of Presheva and one in the Municipality of Bujanovac.
This initiative follows the cooperation that the Albanian Football Federation has built for years with the football community in the Valley, supporting it with sports materials, uniforms and various activities for children. One of these activities was the tournament organized last year, where young footballers from the Presheva Valley and its diaspora participated.
During ongoing contacts with the football community and representatives of the two municipalities, the need to improve sports infrastructure and create more suitable conditions for children and young people who want to play football was highlighted.
It was precisely from this need that the project for the construction of two modern fields was born, which is already in the phase of preparations for implementation.
In a statement to FSHF.org, the President of the Albanian Football Federation, Armand Duka, emphasizes that this initiative goes beyond the construction of two sports fields. According to him, the project aims to create more opportunities for Albanian children in the Presheva Valley to play football and develop their talent.
"The Football Federation has taken an initiative to build two fields in the Presevo Valley, one in Bujanovac and one in the Municipality of Presevo. This initiative did not arise today, as our cooperation and support for children in the Presevo Valley have begun for years, supporting them with sports materials and uniforms. Last year we also organized a tournament with young footballers from the Valley and from the Valley's diaspora.
"During discussions with the football community and the municipalities of Preševo and Bujanovac, we saw that the sports infrastructure was indeed at undesirable levels. For this reason, we decided in the Executive Committee to support them with the construction of a field, but later this decision was changed and we decided to expand the project," - says President Duka.
The expansion of the project into two areas also brought about the need for broader financial support. For this reason, the Albanian Football Federation has turned to businesses and donors to become part of this initiative and contribute to its realization.
President Duka thanks the businesses that have already joined the project, including the Türker family, which has become the first donor, while also appreciating the cooperation with the municipalities and the support of the community in the Presheva Valley.
"We want to expand the project, but on the other hand, this project also requires finance. For this reason, we also turned to businesses to support us in our initiative, because for our budget it is really something that weighs heavily on us. Some of the businesses have responded positively to us to support the project and finalize it.
I want to thank those businesses that have supported us. In the future, we will hold activities, promotions or even inaugurations of the beginning and completion of the works together with them. I also want to thank the municipalities for their cooperation and all those who have supported this project from the Presheva Valley.
"This is not really an institutional duty of the Federation, because we have to organize and support football within the Albanian state borders. But it is our moral duty to the Albanians who live outside our borders. Ultimately, we have a moral obligation to help them to be as close to football as possible," said President Duka.
The AFF project thus aims to create better conditions for the development of youth football in Preševo and Bujanovac, giving children and young people more space to practice sports and pursue their dreams through football.
To implement the project, the Albanian Football Federation will finance the construction of the base, the installation of synthetic turf according to FIFA standards, and the equipping of the fields with goals, while the municipalities will cover the construction of the changing rooms and support spaces.
The Albanian Football Federation, meanwhile, continues its open invitation to businesses, donors and all those who wish to contribute to this initiative, which aims to give Albanian children in the Presheva Valley more opportunities to play, develop and be as close as possible to football.
