SP MP Erion Braçe has officially confirmed his interest in being the Socialist Party's candidate for the Municipality of Tirana, while openly criticizing the way the majority makes decisions without citizen consultation. Through a strong statement, Braçe emphasized that the capital is currently directionless and that this crisis requires an immediate political response.

Braçe noted that the situation in the capital requires a constant presence on the ground and not superficial campaigns, requesting from the SP forums to formalize the candidacy within October.

"I have asked to run to be the SP candidate for Tirana. I am doing my job as an MP as I have been doing for 30 years. Tirana is already without a mayor and I am in the territory every day. The issue of running for office should be addressed by the forums. October should be the deadline, because we cannot respond to Tirana with a 30-day campaign," said Braçe.

Reflecting on the wave of citizen protests, the MP acknowledged that reflection on the part of the government has been mandatory, acknowledging that the current governance model has overlooked citizens and youth.

"The way we have made decisions has been done without asking the people. It seemed non-inclusive to me and this needs to change. Announcements and walking around without asking the people no longer works. Signing decisions that affect the next 10-15 years cannot be done without asking the young people," he declared.
