The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has warned that the protests in Surrel are part of the opposition's agenda, emphasizing that the main focus remains Tirana.

"It is important not to be uprooted from Tirana. As for Surrel, he can stay abroad and not return. He does not give up his seat that way. We sent a detachment to Surrel. Protests in Surrel are on the agenda," Berisha said.

He emphasized that all opposition MPs were present at the protests, some near groups of citizens in their areas, while others were dispersed, with the aim of protecting and supervising protesters during confrontations with the police.

Berisha accused the police of obstruction and arbitrary behavior, stating that the deputies were not allowed to go to the police station to meet the detained protesters. “A soldier of Agas, surnamed Shahini, did not allow the deputies to go to see the protesters at the police station,” he said.

According to Berisha, such actions show that the government is using police pressure to curb citizen protests, while the opposition will continue its mobilization and presence on the ground.
