Journalist Lindita Çela invited to "Studio24" in News24, spoke about the operation conducted a few days ago in Tirana, where a network operating with Call Center fraud was hit.
During the interview, journalist Çela made a chronology of the developments of this operation, going further into how these companies have functioned and how they managed to gain ground in the country.
"The company that carried out this activity was in one of the most central areas of Tirana. The way they operated could perhaps lead to an element to see the implication of other people involved. There have been operations to crack down on fraud in the Call Center before. Why is Albania involved and who was the main element, was also due to the fact that we have a corrupt youth. Whoever was recruited there operated at three levels, we called it the fraud factory, the first level of employees was the salary level, and they were called recruited workers who only made phone calls. In 8 hours of work they had to make over 50-100 phone calls and their task was to make identification. Training was not only done in Albanian offices. The second level had to do with people who managed to convince callers and their salaries ranged from 1 thousand to 2 thousand euros and the reward method also worked. There were promotions at parties and wild dinners. "What is worrying for Albania is that in 2019-2020, law enforcement authorities from EU countries have raised concerns with Albanian bodies," she said.
