Security expert, Dritan Goxhaj, invited to the studio of the show "Oponencë" in News24, has commented on the United States military operation in Venezuela, where President Nicolás Maduro was captured, emphasizing that the American intervention does not represent a "traditional invasion."

The events surrounding this operation have been widely confirmed by international sources, according to which the US carried out a powerful military strike that ended with the capture of Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, and their transportation to the United States, where they face federal charges.

Goxhaj explained that the operation is thought to have lasted only a few hours and the US troops were then withdrawn. “There are no American uniforms in Venezuela now,” he said, explaining that this action has no precedent similar to previous military interventions.

Goxhaj also stressed that, although the intervention is claimed to be unrelated to oil within Venezuela, the global geopolitical context is a key factor. He explained that the pressure on Venezuela is related to its role in the energy market and to possible plans for economic interaction that could undermine the dominance of the US dollar in international markets, a key element of the US geopolitical strategy, according to him.
