Something about this concert, for which the government has allocated over 4 million euros from the state budget reserve fund.
I am hearing, seeing and understanding a great reaction and anger both on social networks, but also in ordinary conversations with different people, about why and how these millions of euros are being spent!
Meanwhile, our country often faces floods and we don't have the money to reimburse people or build dams and canals to minimize the damage from these disasters!
Every year we see apocalyptic fire situations, even loss of human life, and the state has no firefighting equipment to help those affected!
To my knowledge, those affected by the earthquake have not yet been closed or compensated, because the state, they say, no longer has funds for its people!
Let us not forget the economic and human damage suffered by the citizens of this country from the pandemic, a case from which the government only profited, abusing it endlessly.
There has never been any transparency to understand how much of these funds have gone over the years to help the people who, according to those who run the country, have also voted for them!
Because, with laws approved by the Albanian Parliament, the reserve fund of the Council of Ministers should be used primarily for such events and natural disasters.
Meanwhile, since 2022 onwards, we have denounced the staggering expenses from this fund – so far, 2022–2026, over 16 million euros – for the phantom and completely useless project that this state gives to the KOKSH for the alleged massification of sports. Now add to this fund another 4.2 million euros given for this concert, also from this fund, and it becomes more than 20 million euros. If we add about 10 million euros from the Giro d'Italia, it becomes 30 or so million…
Then –
Let the engineers and economists tell us what work could have been done with this money if it had gone to dams and drainage canals!
Let these firefighters tell us how many planes, vehicles, and rescue vehicles could have been purchased to combat fires and civil emergencies!
Let these earthquake workers tell us how many houses and buildings could have been built with this money, to enable people to have a place to lay their heads!
Let these health workers tell us how much work they could have done for the benefit of the population during the pandemic or even later!
Let these sports people tell us how many gyms or sports fields could have been built with this money across the country, to give young Albanians the opportunity to take their sports bags and engage in sports and entertainment, and not to take their bags and run away from this country!
Let these artists tell us how many cinemas or theaters could be built with this money, instead of giving 4.2 million euros to Kim Kardashian's ex-husband!
But the sultanate built on the perverse ideas of one man, whose supreme leader is followed as an example by even the useless idiots beneath him, leaves no room for transparency, let alone accountability.
Expenditures from the state budget reserve fund can in no way be used as a means of personal favors and feeding patronage groups.
It took this occasion, this concert, for public opinion, already imbued with hatred towards government officials, to understand that natural disasters are also abused here and money is spent on fun and parties.
Therefore, they should not be surprised at all that free people are finally coming out and protesting, that the cup can no longer hold and the abuse must one day come to an end.
