British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has expressed regret over Wes Streeting's decision to resign as Health Minister.

Streeting's resignation, announced on Thursday afternoon, is being interpreted as a move to put pressure on Starmer to resign as prime minister and leader of the Labour Party, Sky News reports.

Starmer reacted through a letter in which he said: "I am very sorry that you are leaving the government."

At the same time, he thanked Streeting for their long collaboration and for his contribution to returning the Labor Party to power.

"We have worked together for many years and I want to thank you for all your hard work, both in getting back into government and for what you have achieved," he said.
