The high temperatures of July, and especially those of the first 10 days of the last few days, have been unbearable.

Today, the city streets seem empty, while the pedestrian and cobblestone streets are scorching hot from the heat carried by the stones.
Temperatures, which according to forecasts have exceeded 42 degrees Celsius in Berat today, have caused citizens to head to the shade of flowerbeds, cool off in fountains or head to air-conditioned environments, while most pensioners prefer to spend peak hours at home to go out and cool off in the evenings when temperatures are somewhat more bearable for them.

It seems that the only environment where Berat citizens can cool off these days to cope with the high temperatures of the day is the city's flower garden, inside which there is also a small fountain where they can cool off.

Residents say that the shade of the trees in the park is the only place where they can cool off, since with the pensions they receive, they are unable to go to the beaches due to high prices. Citizens claim that this year's temperatures are the highest in many recent years, so much so that even in the shade it is terrible from the heat, while they declare that they do not have the conditions to cope with the heat at home either.
