For almost a month, Montenegro has been rocked by a scandal involving state officials, following the publication of several videos with intimate content. Following this sexual scandal, successive resignations began.

Several videos of Mirjana Pajković, then secretary of the Ministry of Human Rights and Minorities in Montenegro, were released earlier this year, shaking up the country and the political scene. The scandal led to resignations, accusations and the involvement of authorities.

Pajkovic resigned from her post, as did Dejan Vukšić, former director of the National Security Agency (ANS) and security advisor to the president of Montenegro.

In the published videos, Pajkovic appears in intimate moments with a man, and accusations have been raised that she is Vuksic. Photographs of her have also been published in online media.

Public functions and social media presence

Pajkovic, in addition to her institutional role, was very present and well-known on social networks, mainly on Instagram, where she shared her private and professional life, and gave personal comments on public figures.

She has consistently called out that women in politics often face pressure "to be invisible" and that their appearance is unfairly interpreted as a lack of seriousness.

She believed that public appearance is part of official responsibility, Slobodna wrote.

Her statements constantly received public attention.

Viral video

After the scandal, a video from 2022 was brought back to her. In May of that year, when she was asked about her favorite leader of Montenegro, she said Dejan Vukšić.

At the time, Vukšić was not widely known to the public. He later became the director of ANS and later an advisor to the president. Pajković filed three lawsuits against him at the end of 2025.

Threats and blackmail

She had complained to the police about the unauthorized distribution of intimate materials, threats and blackmail, saying that she had been exposed to pressure for a long time. She described the publication of the videos as a form of violence and a serious violation of human rights.

As part of the documents, she also submitted an audio recording in which she says it is Vukšić's voice threatening her that "there is no more life for her in Montenegro." She also said she has received threats that her career could be ruined.

Also among the messages, the media has published a section showing communications from Dejan Vuksic; "End your career. Don't threaten me."

The State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica has initiated two cases based on criminal reports filed by Pajkovic. The proceedings are in the investigation phase.
