Four fires have been extinguished over the last two days in Has and Tropoja, while the situation has been kept under control thanks to the intervention of the fire service, relevant structures and residents of the affected areas.
According to the Civil Emergencies Directorate, in Has, fires have been identified in forests and pastures in the village of Perollaj, in the Golaj Administrative Unit, as well as in the village of Cahan, in the Krumë Administrative Unit.
Meanwhile, in Tropoja, fires have been recorded in the village of Dushaj, in the Fierzë Administrative Unit, and in Sopot, in the Tropoja e Vjetër Administrative Unit.
Despite the rugged mountainous terrain and the difficulties of intervention, teams on the ground have managed to isolate the fires and prevent the flames from spreading further.
The fires burned bushes and debris, while no damage to forest areas or vegetation was reported.
The rapid intervention of emergency structures has prevented the fires from becoming larger and endangering other areas.
In conditions of high temperatures and increased risk of fires, the Municipalities of Has and Tropoja have appealed to citizens to show maximum caution and avoid any action that could cause a fire.
Meanwhile, firefighters from the Municipality of Kukes have joined other teams working to contain and isolate the fire in Lura. Fire Service teams have transported water to the site, providing support in the fight against the flames in an area characterized by difficult terrain.
Other means and capacities have been deployed to assist the operation in Lura, with the aim of strengthening the intervention and preventing the fire from spreading to other areas.
