Today marks the 101st day of the civic protest, where the main demand remains the removal of the government and the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Meanwhile, yesterday's protest, the 100th day of the revolt, has received coverage in international media.
CNN journalist Isa Soares has stated that the protest has turned into a movement demanding the government's resignation.
“For 100 days, people have been taking to the streets every night to protest government corruption and a plan for a luxury resort. This was a scene about an hour ago in Tirana, Albania. My producer tells me that the protests are still going on, in fact. The project is planned on an ecologically sensitive strip of the Adriatic coast, as we’ve shown you here on the show, home to a variety of wildlife, including flamingos — which is why you see flamingos have become a real icon of this protest. The protest started that way, but it has expanded to calls for the government to resign. We will continue to follow this story as we have done so far,” she says.
