Another shocking and very touching testimony touched the "Martyrs of the Nation" boulevard during the massive protest in the capital. Amidst tears and with her voice trembling with pain, the aunt of Erion, a young man stabbed to death by a peer, took to the podium, making very serious accusations against the healthcare system and the Albanian state.
She indicated that in addition to the aggressor, the collapse of hospitals also directly influenced her nephew's death, denouncing the fact that while the young man was undergoing life-saving surgery, the lights in the hospital were turned off.
"I am Erion's aunt. He was stabbed to death by a peer, but the state also killed him, because during the operation the lights in the hospital were turned off! The wounds of this country are the tears of Albanian mothers who do not have their children. To unite with all their tears, which weigh heavily on Albanian soil," she expressed amidst emotions.
She emphasized that her family's pain will only be healed when the entire country heals from this degradation, calling on the government to step down and congratulating the youth who filled the square.
"I am a teacher and a poet who writes, but my pen has been weeping for Erion for months. Our pain will heal when Albania heals. Let's save this country! Well done Albanian youth, enjoy beautiful Albania!" she concluded.
