Prime Minister Edi Rama has opened the Western Balkans Leaders Summit, which is taking place today in Tirana.
In his speech, Rama thanked the EU Enlargement Commissioner, Oliver Varheyli, who, according to the head of the Albanian government, initiated and promoted the great economic and investment plan of the regional common market.
"Thank you very much for accepting the invitation in such a short time and I am happy to welcome each of you to Tirana. Your participation in this Summit of the Sixth Western Balkans in Tirana is a clear sign of our will to take regional ownership of the implementation of the EU plan, the economic and investment plan, and the common regional market.
I am very grateful to the EU commissioner, who launched and promoted this great plan, as a key instrument that will help us recover economically in a post-pandemic era, work on social-economic resilience, move towards growth sustainable and build on the green transition of our economies. I would politely ask the media to let us continue our work", said Rama.
