Albert Cara, a survivor of the November 26, 2019 earthquake, an event in which he lost 7 of his family members, passed away on Saturday as a result of cardiac arrest.
The news was announced through a post on social media by his relative, Arben Cara, who is the General Director of the Fire Service.
In his post, Arbeni writes that the loss of Albert Cara's family during the November 2019 earthquake remained a wound that never healed for him.
"Today Albert Cara passed away... a heart that held within it the greatest pain a human being can experience. In the tragic earthquake of November 26, he lost his entire family."
A wound that never healed. Today, after a heart attack, Albert left this world to join his angels in eternity.
"His pain was great, but his love for his family was even greater. Rest in peace Albert... now you are again close to those you loved most," Arben Cara wrote in his post on social media.
The Cara family suffered the greatest shock from the earthquake that claimed 24 lives in Thumanë. Alberi's family was wiped out. His wife, Fatmira, her three children, Hasani, who would celebrate his 19th birthday the day after the earthquake, Almiri with his fiancée from Korça, Stela, and their daughter, Elisa. Fate wanted a miracle to happen with Albert and Lindita Cara, and they emerged alive from the rubble after hours of searching.
Albert Cara's family lived on the 5th floor of the building that collapsed in Thumanë. While his uncle's daughter-in-law, her daughter and granddaughter lived on the first floor of the same building.
