The Transparency Board approved this Wednesday the new ceiling prices for the sale of fuels in the domestic market, which entered into force on June 10, 2026, at 14:00 PM.

According to the board's decision, the maximum retail price for diesel will be 188 lek per liter, while the wholesale price should not exceed 176 lek per liter.

Meanwhile, gasoline will be traded at a maximum price of 171 lek per liter in retail and 159 lek per liter in wholesale. The board announced that these prices will remain in effect until the next meeting, when new changes in the international and domestic market will be reflected.

The Transparency Board on June 10, 2026, at the next meeting, decided:
✅The retail price of the gasoil by-product of the SSH EN 590 standard should be no more than 188 ALL/liter, while the wholesale price no more than 176 ALL/liter.
✅The retail price of the SSH EN standard gasoline by-product should be no more than 171 lek/liter, while the wholesale price should be no more than 159 lek/liter.
🗓️The prices set by the Board will come into effect today, the 10th, at 11:30 am and will be valid until the next board meeting where the changes in sales prices will be reflected.
⚠️We draw the attention of every wholesale and retail operator of petroleum by-products to the obligation to implement this decision.
🚫 In case of violations found by different operators, the suspension of the activity will be imposed.
🛢️ The Ministry of Economy and Innovation, together with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, are committed to protecting the interests of Albanian consumers and preserving the principles of fair competition in the market.

EXPLANATION: Referring to Normative Act No. 1, Date 3.4.2026 “On an addition to Law No. 61/2012, “On excise duties in the Republic of Albania,” as amended, which provides that if the retail price for diesel is higher than 220 lek/liter, or for gasoline is higher than 200 lek/liter, the 80% excise duty level shall be applied. Based on the application of the methodology for calculating the retail price ceiling, the prices are below the limit of Normative Act No. 1, date 3.4.2026, and consequently the excise duty level shall be applied in full, 100%.
Fishing diesel fuel – the selling price of fishing diesel fuel, referred to Law 9975, dated 28.07.2008 “On National Taxes”, in Article 9 “Exemptions from the payment of national taxes”, point 6 it is provided: …“Fishing vessels are exempt from the payment of the turnover tax and the carbon tax. Also referred to Article 10, point 3 letter “d” of Law 61/2012 “On excise duties in the Republic of Albania”, the exemption from excise duties of fuel for fishing vessels is provided, in the quantities, conditions and criteria specified in the Council of Ministers. Referring to the methodology specified in the normative act, the selling price of fishing diesel fuel results in 92 lek.
