Prime Minister Edi Rama convened the Socialist Party Assembly today, where he declared that the majority secured by the Socialist Party of Albania was crucial in not blocking Albania's European integration process.

During the SP Assembly meeting, Rama focused on negotiations with the European Union and the adoption of laws related to the membership process.

The Prime Minister also recalled the criticism he received for demanding a strong governing mandate. According to him, if the opposition had more mandates, the integration process could have been blocked.

"The world was shocked that our negotiations were blocked. People are focusing on membership because they want it to be
When I said we need a strong mandate, they told me this will be like Putin. But we have passed a package of laws that were only about integration.
"Out of 27 laws, 7 had 84 votes. Imagine if we had 75 and the others had Molotov cocktails? Then our process would have been blocked and the parliament would have smiled. We would be in a situation of coming around chasing our own tail. So we should kiss the hands of those who trusted us to carry out the negotiations, not for the chairs," he said.
