The Divjaka Municipal Council held an extraordinary meeting to discuss the draft sent by the Assembly, following the majority's proposal for the administrative-territorial reform.
This meeting was attended by 20 councilors out of 31 in total, where the right-wingers requested to be familiar with the correspondence that the Divjaka Municipality has maintained with the reform drafting commission.
The councilors also requested clarification from Mayor Josif Gorrea regarding the position he held at the meeting held with Prime Minister Rama two days ago in Kuç.
The councilors unanimously decided that the commission that will be established to conduct public hearings with the residents of the 5 administrative units will consist of 7 members, 4 representatives from the municipality and 3 from the municipal council.
The Divjaka Municipal Council approved at this meeting the structure that will conduct two-month public hearings on the Territorial Reform, which will then be sent to the Assembly.
The councilors supported the residents who have been protesting for 14 days, expressing opposition to the merger of Divjaka and its unification with Lushnja.
