On the 74th consecutive day of protest against Prime Minister Edi Rama and his government cabinet, speeches in front of the Prime Minister's Office building continued with strong denunciations of the lack of meritocracy and nepotistic hiring in the public administration.
A young protester took the podium to raise her voice on the reality faced by young people with high academic results, who remain outside the job market due to a lack of political connections:
"I have met dozens of unemployed young people of excellence. Meritocracy has been definitively erased in this country! We are clear that meritocracy has been hit spectacularly. There are no jobs for excellent students in this country and administration, because this administration employs people with nepotistic connections."
Further, the young woman addressed a direct message to the head of the executive, removing a clear dividing line between the protesting youth and the exponents of power:
"Mr. Prime Minister, this generation is not Taulant Balla or Ardit Bido to become lickers of this power! These are ugly examples that I mentioned in parliament and they do not represent us!" she declared to the crowd of protesters.
