The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, in a statement outside the DP headquarters said that the proposed leadership team represents the highest level this political force has ever had, emphasizing the inclusion of high-profile academic figures, young people and women.

"In this team that you have before you today, there are personalities who have publications in world magazines. There has never been a team like this in history. There is a high representation of young people, women and inclusion of all sensitivities," said Berisha.

He emphasized that each member has the right to express their opinion, while the election process takes place by secret ballot between two candidates.

"Everyone has the right to express their opinion. We vote secretly with two candidates, and the candidates are incomparable in their qualities," he said.

Regarding changes in the leadership of the regions, Berisha explained that the process will continue gradually and will be accompanied by a deep renewal of the party's structures.

"This is an ongoing process, but changes will happen hand in hand. There is a deep and unprecedented renewal of the Democratic Party," declared the leader of the DP.

Berisha also explained that the proposed names were not published earlier to avoid influence and lobbying during the process.

"To minimize lobbying, I did not give them their names in the morning. I requested that the candidates be announced only in the hall," he said.

Regarding the debates held during the National Council meeting with Ilirjana Kuçana, Berisha said that no one is denied the right to speak, but every action must respect the party's statute.

"I let him speak and it is not denied to anyone. Everyone is free to express their opinion. In accordance with the statute, they can submit a resolution. If we do it outside the statute, it is not my duty," he declared.

In conclusion, Berisha guaranteed transparency for the voting process, emphasizing that the result will be announced publicly.

"This party releases the result in front of the cameras. The vote is secret," he concluded.

A very important day in which the DP closes the process of constituting all of its institutions. I believe this is clear, a spirit of renewal throughout, in implementation of the most important motto of the Assembly, which was renewal.

With this today, it has a team that it has never had before. I guarantee that a team like this in competence and experience, in formation, is the top team of this party in all times and you can take this into consideration.
