One of the activists stated that protests are taking place in Përrenjas because the new Territorial Reform and the political class are stomping on small municipalities and depopulating them. He said that Rama's resignation would bring about epochal changes.

"52 days of resistance to make possible the change that this prime minister and this class have not made in 36 years."
I don't know how many days we will have to stay and resist, but we will be here until the day this prime minister resigns. The resignation that will pave the way for epochal changes, would pave the way for a transitional government that would bring constitutional and legal changes.

I salute the protesters who have come out in Prrenjas against this government that contributed to the depopulation of that area and all of Albania and after the depopulation they are telling them to leave. This political class has put its foot down the throats of Prrenjas and the residents of small municipalities and is telling them to leave.
"Residents of villages have to travel many kilometers to get to the nearest city, this would only lead to depopulation, so we must stand and resist until the corrupt government leaves, because honest citizens should not leave," he said.
