The Basic Court in Pristina has today issued a decision on the security measure against rapper Gjesti. After hearing the parties, the court has decided to order him to be detained for one month, 30 days.
According to the official announcement from the General Department, this decision came after the request made by the Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina. The well-known artist is charged with criminal offenses of intimidation, damage to property, and unauthorized possession or control of weapons.
The pre-trial judge, after a detailed analysis of the case files, assessed the prosecution's request as fair and well-founded. The court found that ordering pre-trial detention is currently the most appropriate measure to guarantee the smooth flow of the proceedings.
In the reasoning of the decision, it is emphasized that there are circumstances that indicate the risk of the defendant's flight, the possibility of influencing witnesses, as well as the risk of repetition of the offense. For these reasons, this measure was seen as the only solution at this stage of the investigation.
However, his defense still has legal recourse. Against this ruling, dissatisfied parties have the right to file an appeal with the Court of Appeal, through the Basic Court in Pristina.
