Two police operations within 24 hours in Fier and Mallakastër, targeting cases of illegal possession of weapons. Three people were arrested, while two firearms and a shotgun were seized as material evidence.
On the Fier Bypass, during the operation codenamed "Axis", the police arrested a 19-year-old from Vlora, who was suspected of being in possession of a firearm in a vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, the police found and seized a pistol.
Following the investigation, a 28-year-old passenger in the vehicle was also arrested, who is suspected of knowing about the weapon and that it would be sold in Fier. Meanwhile, in Mallakastër, the “Hidden Guns” operation was finalized, where a 38-year-old from the village of Lofkënd was arrested. He is suspected of having threatened another person with a shotgun after a conflict over weak motives.
During the search of his apartment, a Kalashnikov firearm and a shotgun were seized, which he is suspected of possessing without a permit. The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.
