Three people have been injured in a knife attack at a train station in Winterthur, a city in northern Switzerland near the canton of Zurich. According to Zurich cantonal police, the incident occurred at around 08:30 a.m. when a man attacked several people inside the busy railway station.

Authorities confirmed the suspect is a 31-year-old Swiss national, who was arrested shortly after the attack by law enforcement. The condition of the injured is not yet fully known, but it was initially reported that four people were injured, while police later corrected the number to three. Winterthur is one of the busiest stations in the region and the incident caused panic among passengers, including schoolchildren who were in the area at the time of the attack. Eyewitnesses said people ran to leave the scene immediately after the incident.

According to some testimonies reported by international media, the attacker was heard shouting religious phrases during the attack, but Swiss police emphasize that the motives of the incident remain under investigation and have not been officially confirmed. The Zurich Cantonal Police announced that investigations are continuing to clarify the circumstances and reasons that led to the attack.
