Today marks the 35th day of the protest in Tirana against Prime Minister Edi Rama. Activist Erjon Murataj in an interview on "News24", spoke about the protest in front of the Parliament which was accompanied by tensions and clashes.
He stressed that the protesters were being violated and this is a scandalous thing. He also added that the protest has declared war on the 35-year-old establishment.
"Citizens have gone to hold accountable those they elected. I was there myself that day. The state police attacked. But the entire escalation of the situation was provoked, women and elderly people were kicked. There is no extraordinary news about the fact that citizens are protesting. The Prime Minister is talking about an abnormal reality. We have learned that arrested protesters have been raped in detention. People who should be waiting for justice are raped by those who are supposed to be supervisors. We have learned that there have been rapes inside detention and we have no official reaction," he said, among other things.
