High intensity rainfall is expected in the north and south today and tomorrow.
In a statement from the Institute of Geosciences, high-intensity rainfall will include Lezha and Shkodra, Kukes, Vlora and Gjirokastra.
It is also reported that in some regions there may be rapid river flooding. Meanwhile, urban areas may experience flooding problems.
NOTICE
This afternoon (Monday, 05) and tomorrow (Tuesday, 06) high intensity rainfall is expected mainly in the north and south of the country. In the regions of Shkodër, Kukës, Lezhë, Vlorë and Gjirokastër, there may be flash floods of small mountain rivers and landslides. In urban areas, localized flooding problems may occur in these regions, depending on the state of the sewerage.
According to IGJEO's hydrological calculations, as a result of the high-intensity rainfall over the past few days, which will continue until Thursday, January 08, there will be a dangerous increase in flows and levels in the Drin-Buna rivers, Lake Skadar, the Mat, Shkumbin and Vjosa rivers.
The Drin-Buna River and Lake Skadar will have an increased risk of flooding with high flows and levels throughout today and tomorrow.

This afternoon (Monday, 05) and tomorrow (Tuesday, 06) in the districts of Shkodër, Kukës, Vlorë and Gjirokastër, intense to locally very intense rainfall is expected. In the districts of Lezhë, Berat and Korçë, moderate to locally intense rainfall is expected. In the other districts, light to moderate rainfall is expected. The rainfall is expected to be accompanied by thunderstorms (as shown in the table, respectively for each district).
