Member of the Presidency of the Democratic Party, Ervin Salianji, recalled today on Youth Day, where the students of December 1990 brought about the overthrow of communism and brought democracy to the country.
In a post on social media, Salianji said that December 8 is an event that illuminates the dignity of our society.
"Eternal gratitude to all the students, young people and intellectuals who came together to end Albania's misery and turn it towards the West!" writes Salianji.

Today we honor the young men and women who, 35 years ago, led Albania's historic turnaround amidst darkness, uncertainty, and fear!
They faced a weakened but still toothless system. They became protagonists, risking their lives to raise Albania's head and make it free.
December 8th is an event that illuminates the dignity of our society, as if to remind us of where we come from and where we should go!
Eternal gratitude to all the students, young people, and intellectuals who came together to end Albania's misery and turn it toward the West!
