Increased flow has been noted in recent days at the border points in the southeast of the country, as part of the summer tourist season. Thousands of citizens have entered Albania through Kapshtica and Qafë Thana, while movements have also been significant on the way out.
According to Border Police data, during the period 1-6 August, 33,079 entries and 23,835 exits of citizens were registered at the Kapshtica border crossing. In the same period, 38,323 entries and 28,067 exits were registered at Qafë Thanë.
The highest influx in Kapshtica was recorded on August 5, with 8,051 citizens entering Albania, while in Qafë Thanë, also on August 5, 9,837 entries were recorded.
In the first 6 days of August alone, both border crossings have recorded a combined 71,402 entries and 51,902 exits, reflecting the numerous movements of citizens and tourists during the holiday season.
In Kapshtica, on August 5, 2,995 vehicles were also registered, while in Qafë Thane 3,590 vehicles.
The high flow at the two border points is expected to continue in the coming days, as August remains one of the busiest periods of the tourist season.
