Journalist and analyst Ben Andoni commented on recent political developments during an interview on News24, focusing on the recent protest of the Democratic Party and its impact. According to Andoni, the protest fell short of expectations and failed to produce the intended effect. He emphasized that with this level of pressure and energy, the opposition finds it difficult to fulfill its political objectives.

The analyst assessed that the DP should be supported as an alternative, but added that it is still not managing to bring about the required change and is not clearly communicating its messages, which according to him has brought disappointment to the public. Speaking about the majority, Andoni stated that the Socialist Party of Albania is in a difficult moment, with low credibility in its fourth mandate and with an administration that, according to him, is not advancing the country's development.

He emphasized that Albania is at an important stage in the European integration process and that the opposition itself bears responsibility for the current situation, due to its strong rejectionist stance towards any initiative by the majority.

In this context, Andoni suggested that the opposition avoid harsh rhetoric and be more institutional in relation to international partners, especially in Brussels, citing as an example Jorida Tabaku for her more moderate approach. He also criticized statements that present Albania as a “narco-state”, emphasizing that such discourse damages the image of the country. On the other hand, according to him, Prime Minister Edi Rama has also had extreme positions in his appearances in the European Union. Andoni also mentioned foreign policy issues, assessing that some diplomatic actions, such as international visits and statements, have not always been at the right time and context.

"The last protest of the DP was far from expectations. With this pressure and energy, it is impossible to meet the objectives. There is a problem with the shaping of the protests. It says that it has held 7 national protests, but it looked more like a demonstration. The DP is to be supported, but it is not able to make a change and is not taking care of its messages. Therefore, the public is disappointed, whether it has the possibility of making a change or not. The SP is not only struggling, in its lowest credits of its 4th mandate, but is showing that it has an administration that is unable to continue the development of the country. Albania is at the last moment of closing the chapters. The DP itself is also to blame here, as it stressed that it would not accept anything from the SP. The DP should also not become more toxic, but should be institutional and in Brussels. Like Mrs. Tabaku. She spoke rightly. Then there is another part that presents the country as a narco-state. Today, Mr. Rama in his appearance in the EU is "The EU has not so easily chewed over Albania's inclusion on the Peace board. Albania could have been more measured in its statements. They were made at the wrong time and place, such as Rama's visit to Israel," he said.
