The ownership structure in the military industry and suspicions about the movement of weapons have been at the center of the statements of security expert, Avenir Peka.

In an interview for the show "First Minute" on News24, he spoke about the private partnerships behind the state-owned company KAYO and its management.

Peka explained the ownership scheme and the role of the directors.

"KAYO is a state-owned company, JSC, owned by the state, with an administrator appointed by the state who is a figure we know, ignorant in his field, a suicide bomber of the prime minister, the former police director, Ardi Veliu. In parallel with KAYO, another company was created in the field of defense, owned by Ron Yeffet with another Albanian lady, and these two owners of this company, together with KAYO, have created a third company. In the third company, KAYO has 10% of the shares and these two have 90%. This year, KAYO has also sold this 10% of the large shares. Because it has sold 51% of its shares, so the state is currently a 49% shareholder in KAYO. So in big business, it is 4.9%," he said.

Regarding domestic production, the expert stated that the company does not have any manufacturing plants.

"The Timak Defense cars are Toyota cars bought on the market, painted in camouflage and sold, they have even put a Timak logo on the front and it is as if they produced it. They do not have a factory to produce, they do not produce anything! It turns out that for light weapons and ammunition, they are produced or purchased in Africa, brought to Albania and packaged here as Made in Albania and sent to the conflict zone. One thing is the manipulation of financial balances and another thing is to leave for Ukraine and another is to go to Ukraine and end up we do not know where. This is arms trafficking. This is currently happening in Albania," concluded Peka.
