A two-story apartment was engulfed in flames this Monday afternoon in the Fier-Shegan area, where an elderly couple lived.

The fire started on the ground floor of the apartment, and as soon as they noticed the flames, the family members immediately notified the fire department. Relatives and residents of the area quickly intervened, helping the two elderly couples get out of the apartment without sustaining any injuries.

Two fire engines from Lushnja arrived at the scene, which made it possible to isolate the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to surrounding homes.

After the intervention of the fire brigade, the situation was brought under control, while an ambulance arrived in the area to check on the health condition of the two elderly people.

According to preliminary data from the Lushnja firefighters, it is suspected that the cause of the fire was an electrical spark, while verifications are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
