More than a ton of drugs hidden inside a truck were seized this week by Turkish customs at the border with Greece. The news was announced by Turkish authorities. According to the Turkish Ministry of Trade, the cargo, whose market value amounts to more than 55 million euros, was discovered at the border crossing in Ipsala (northwestern Turkey) and contained mainly methamphetamine, heroin and raw opium.

According to the private news agencies DHA and IHA and as reported by the Athens News Agency, the truck had arrived from Iran.

Turkish authorities have announced that in 2025 they seized a total of 33.6 tons of drugs with a market value of almost 840 million euros.
