Donald Trump has been harsh with European leaders. In a recent reaction, Trump claims that no other president or leader has done more for NATO than he has.
Trump also adds that without his intervention, the Alliance would have collapsed. "No person, no president has done more for NATO," he said.
According to his claim, if he had not assumed the presidency of the United States, "NATO would not exist today," arguing that it would have ended up "in the ashes of history."
