President Donald Trump has revoked the security clearances of Antony Blinken, the former Secretary of State, and Jake Sullivan, the former national security adviser, according to a White House statement on Saturday.
The move came a day after the US president said he had revoked the security clearance of his predecessor Joe Biden, barring him from access to daily intelligence briefings.
"Bad guy. Take away his permits," Trump is quoted as saying to Blinken, according to the New York Post.
Trump also ordered the termination of the security clearance of Biden's deputy attorney general, Lisa Monaco, who helped coordinate the Justice Department's response to the January 6, 2021 attacks by Trump supporters on the US Capitol.
They stated that Trump also revoked the clearances of New York Attorney General Letitia James and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, both of whom prosecuted cases against him.
In 2021, Biden revoked the security clearance for Trump, who was then the former president.
