The State Police has finalized the international operation codenamed “Fury”, within the framework of a cooperation between Albanian security structures and international partners. The operation was carried out by the Directorate of the Special Operational Force at the Criminal Police Department, in cooperation with the Durrës Local Police Directorate and partners of the Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) at the embassies of the United States of America in Tirana and Skopje.

As a result of the operation, two citizens considered to be of high social risk and declared internationally wanted by the North Macedonian authorities were arrested in Durrës.

Citizens M. Xh., 26 years old, born in Skopje, and SN, 34 years old, born in Norway, were arrested. For them, INTERPOL had issued international arrest warrants on charges of murder, wounding, illegal possession of weapons and criminal acts committed within the framework of a criminal organization. During the search, the police found suspected forged identification documents on the two arrested, which were allegedly used to leave the territory of North Macedonia and evade justice.

Following the operation, a citizen of North Macedonia, Xh. R., 26 years old, was also arrested in flagrante delicto, suspected of having provided the wanted persons with false documents. He is charged with the criminal offenses of "Supporting the perpetrator of a crime" and "Forgery of documents".

During the search of his apartment, the police also seized a small amount of suspected narcotic substance Cannabis Sativa. The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further investigation, while the Albanian authorities have assessed the cooperation with American partners and Macedonian counterparts as a key element in the implementation of the operation.
