Two fires have been registered in the last few hours in the territory of the Municipality of Prrenjas, one in the village of Skënderbe in the Rrajcë Administrative Unit and the other in the Qukë Administrative Unit. The flames have been favored by the high temperatures that have engulfed the area, increasing the risk of their spread to other areas. Thanks to the immediate response of the Fire Protection and Rescue Service (MZSH) Prrenjas, in cooperation with the State Police and the residents of the affected areas, it was possible to isolate and completely extinguish both fires, preventing the flames from approaching homes.

According to information, there were no injuries to people or homes from these fires. Only material damage and burning of several surfaces affected by the flames were recorded.

The local authorities in Prrenjas have appreciated the commitment of the MZSH, State Police and residents, who contributed to managing the situation and avoiding the most serious consequences. Meanwhile, the Municipality has once again appealed to citizens to show maximum caution during this period of high temperatures, by not lighting fires in nature, by not throwing cigarette butts or flammable materials in open spaces and by immediately notifying the authorities of any detected fire.
