Two fire incidents were recorded today in the territory of the Municipality of Cërrik, putting the firefighting services in motion. While the first fire, detected during the morning hours, was localized and quickly brought under control, the situation became more difficult in the evening, when another fire outbreak engulfed an area in the village of Shala.

The evening fire broke out around 21:00 PM in the village of Shala, Shala Administrative Unit, in the territory of the Municipality of Cërrik. The flames reached considerable proportions and due to the proximity to homes, as well as a service point, the situation posed a risk of the fire spreading and causing greater damage.

Immediately after receiving the notification, numerous fire service forces and vehicles were deployed to the field. To cope with the situation, two firefighting groups intervened, which worked to isolate the flames and prevent their advancement towards homes and buildings near the area affected by the fire.

The fire damaged several ornamental trees, while the timely intervention of the fire services made it possible to avoid a more serious situation. Despite the danger posed by the flames, the homes in the area were not damaged.

This is the second fire incident recorded on the same day in the territory of the Municipality of Cërrik. In the morning, another fire was detected in the territory of the municipality, but thanks to the rapid intervention of the services, the fire was contained in time and did not cause significant damage.

The two incidents in one day bring attention back to the danger of fires during this hot period of the year, especially in areas near homes and businesses. In the case of Shalës, the intervention with increased forces proved decisive in keeping the flames away from homes and preventing the fire from spreading further.

The causes of the fire have not yet been announced and remain to be determined by the relevant verifications.
