Herve Renard is no longer in charge of Saudi Arabia. The French coach told the media that he has been dismissed from his duties as coach of the national team, exactly two months before the start of the 2026 World Cup.
"Yes, I have been dismissed from the management of Saudi Arabia. This is football. The national team has qualified for the World Cup seven times, twice they have been with me. And I am the only coach who led the team in the qualifiers and the World Cup for the 2022 edition. This will remain a source of pride for me," he stressed.
Renard, 57, returned for a second stint as Saudi Arabia coach at the end of 2024, having led them to the World Cup in Qatar, where they notably defeated Argentina, with the latter subsequently winning the competition.
