The UN denounces the world's "apathy" in the face of the suffering of millions of people on the planet, while launching a humanitarian appeal that appears to have been significantly reduced for 2026 to respond to the drastic drop in funding.
"This is an era of brutality, impunity and indifference," said UN humanitarian chief Tom Fletcher at a press conference in New York.
Among other things, he unveiled a plan, a scaled-down version of which hopes to raise at least $23 billion to help 87 million people in Gaza, Sudan, Haiti, Myanmar and Ukraine.
